Eurovision
Saturday was the night when this years British entry to the Eurovision Song Contest was chosen.
At the very least, it is a better song than last year's embarrassingly bad entry.
It just needs to be "Eurovisioned" up a bit. Hopefully we'll end up doing better this year as well... hey, stranger things have happened... haven't they?

You Can Get It If You Really Want
A new Conservative ad campaign has been launched, showing the changes that a Conservative government will bring to Britain. With the campaign is a new video setting out these changes, which you can watch here, via the new Conservative party Facebook page. David Cameron explains the new campaign in the video below:
One thing I don't get though is the idea of becoming a "friend" of the party, but not a member. Doesn't really make much sense to me, but hey.

Beautiful Music
I have just come across some extremely beautiful music, performed by an amazing singer: Callaghan. She has just realised her first EP, which can be bought here or downloaded from iTunes.
There are a couple of her songs available to listen to on her website, but for a taster here is a video of her performing:

Super Tuesday
It's Super Tuesday in America. The day when 22 states are voting in their primaries to select their candidates for the Presidency. It really is a crazy system they have.
It is down to Barack Obama v Hillary Clinton for the Democrats and John McCain v Mitt Romney for the Republicans. McCain is expected to emerge triumphant from the Republican race today, but no outright winner is expected to emerge for the Democrats.
If I had a vote, it would got to Obama. He is the future of America.
UPDATE: What if the whole world have a vote? [Hat-tip to Norfolk Blogger]

President Tony? Only If He Gets Enough Power...
Tony Blair would be President of the EU, but only if they give him enough power. This is one good reason for Gordon Brown to fight giving the EU power [or at least the President role], as Blair being President of the EU would be his nightmare.
This is a perfect reason to re-post William Hague's speech in the EU (Amendment) Bill in which he paints the picture of Brown receiving Tony Blair as "Mr President"...

Kraaazy Creationists!
I see your peanut butter, James, and raise you a banana. Seriously, this guy uses a banana to claim that the theory evolution is bunkum:
Even after watching it several times, I'm still not certain whether or not he's being serious... though he probably is.

A Speech No Prime Minister Would Ever Make
This speech, made by Hugh Grant in the film Love Actually [which was on TV last night, hence this post], is one which the British people would love to hear - but that would never be made by any Prime Minister of any party. Nevertheless, it is a fantastic speech.
Of course I'm not anti-American - but this speech isn't anti-American, but rather pro an equal relationship. It is about Britain not being America's poodle.

It's CHRISTMAS!!!
Now it is Christmas, as I'm on holiday from work - for the next eleven days! Which I'm going to use to - apart from the obvious eating, drinking, and celebrating - to get started writing my We The People columns at the Wardman Wire [read a preview here].
I also thought I'd give this blog a bit of a spruce up for the seasonal festivities, hence the new header.
